Bank holidays in England 2027

England bank holidays for planning leave — dated from our GOV.UK import of the England and Wales calendar.

England’s public bank-holiday list on ArcYear comes from the GOV.UK England and Wales calendar we import and store ourselves. That is the same official calendar Wales uses: Christmas, Easter, early May, and the late-August holiday land on shared dates. Scotland and Northern Ireland keep separate calendars. Use this England hub when your workplace follows the England and Wales pattern, then open the Leave Maximiser to turn bridges into longer breaks without guessing.

Early May and the late August bank holiday often create the cleanest Monday–Friday bridges for English workplaces. Good Friday and Easter Monday cluster in spring; Boxing Day and Christmas can stretch into a long break when they sit next to a weekend. Always confirm with your employer if substitute days apply for your contract.

Dates come from our scheduled import of the official GOV.UK bank holidays list — the GOV.UK England and Wales calendar (shared by both nations). ArcYear does not call GOV.UK on this page — we serve the list from our own copy so it stays available if the third party is down.

Amber mark means the holiday is often celebrated with street bunting (GOV.UK bunting flag).
